Our Rooms
Baby Room
At Learn to Leap, We find that our babies benefit from a, home from home open learning environment. The room is set up with well equipped activities and toys suitable for their age. We have an amazing area to do messy play, where the children are encouraged to develop and grow through creative activities. The babies have access to their own private and secure outdoor provision where they are able to explore in all weathers.
The baby room follows the parents/carers routine at home and the key person approach is in place to ensure a smooth settling in and transition into nursery life. You will receive a weekly update on what your activates your child has been doing on Tapestry.
Toddler Room’s
We have two toddler rooms, one for our younger 2 year olds and one for our rising 3’s. Both rooms are set out with well equipped, age appropriate resources for your child to access. We focus on ‘in the moment planning’ where the children thrive through their own interests and next steps.
Many children will have a burst of language development and our emphasis with the younger children is on encouraging social cooperation. In practical terms this involves encouraging children to share, to get involved in more group activities and play and to manage their emotions – something that becomes easier for them as their language skills develop.
Most children will be starting to use the toilet independent, but may often require support. Our emphasis is still very much on play but also more formal and structured learning begins at this point.
Whilst we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, which provides a broad
and rich learning experience for young children, our philosophy remains to encourage and guide your child along their own individual learning path, often utilising Reggio Emillia teaching method and equipment.
Pre-School
Our Pre-School room provides a safe space for our older children with the opportunity and experience to further develop their confidence and independence. Within our Pre-School room the children will benefit from carefully planned Early Years educational activities. This space will provide a enabling environment to develop the skills required in preparation for school such as social skills, independence and self-esteem.
Our children begin to prepare for school by developing their literacy skills, numeracy skills and taking part in story sharing. We encourage a range of activities including arts and crafts, sand, water, music, dance, role play and go on trips.

Garden
Our outdoor provision at Learn to Leap has enabled the children to explore the natural environment first hand; building on their resilience, confidence and self-esteem. Each class has access to the garden daily, and this enables them to develop problem solving skills; giving them the ability to connect with nature.
The children have the opportunity to build relationships and use teamwork outside. These are vital life skills, essential in them becoming independent learners.
